Hi Everyone

I am looking to conduct a very simple team event which really engages staff and gets them spending time together and sharing ideas and solutions.
I want to run a treasure hunt and wonder if anyone has good solid generic treasure hunt clues please, or ones i can adapt as time is of the essence?

many thanks
Angela

Hi Angela,

Have you considered Jack Fruggles Treasure? It's one of my favourites; a fun twist on a treasure hunt, that's great for team work and requires a range of different skills. It's fun to participate in and fun to facilitate:

Hi don't know if this will be quick enough or be suitable I once took photos on my phone of obscure objects around the vicinity of where I held the training e.g. grid in the parking area ,part of a sign, some part of a door but not the main door ,printed them out small images on a sheet for each team they had to then run around and locate and collect objects along the way e.g. leaf from a xxx tree requires a bit of set up ,but very energising

Hello Angela I recently developed a scavenger hunt which I ran at a client's staff conference. The aim was to get people moving around, exploring, working together, and using different skills. It has a mix of - things to find, riddles to solve, creative solutions, things to take photos of etc so that within the team people can utilise their skills/strengths. It is designed to get people out and about around the venue and the local area. I gave teams 30 minutes to find/complete as many things on the list as possible. When they returned I got teams to pair up and present their results to each other and score each other. People loved it and it worked brilliantly. If you email me at [email protected] I'm happy to share it with you. NB: When I was developing this activity I tested it out at one of our Trainers Exchange events and got feedback from the participants, as well as additional suggestions for items to add to the list. This was really helpful as it helped me to see that I had made it too simple and could include more challenging things within the time available in order to stretch people and to create a bit of pressure. Trainers Exchange is a quarterly networking/CPD event for L&D people and provides a great opportunity for trainers to try out new ideas, get feedback, and learn with/from their peers. Hi Angela, I don't have clues I can send you but here's some ideas from ones we've done before. We are based in London and did one where we had to go ask the changing of the guards the name of william and kate's baby (obviously era specific), get a picture of a famous landmark, old fashioned london bus. Xmas theme - sing a christmas carol and video it, tackiest christmas bauble, man with a father christmas beard. Museum theme - find artifacts and answer cryptic questions about them from the science and natural history musem. Hope that sparks some ideas. Jane
