Hi Jo, This isn't really a response regarding content to deliver and of course, I have no idea where you are based, but it might be worth exploring the availability of community-use computers (e.g. within a local library. This would, at least, get over the problem of access to the resources without which I think it would be really difficult to deliver an IT course. Good luck with your mission! Barbara |

Hi Jo, a challenge indeed! Couple of things to think about, but happy to have a deeper chat. Can they bring their own devices? That will help in 3 ways; laptop shortage, may give you a measure of their use of IT, and they feel comfortable. What do you need them to know and what would they like to know - this will help with the design and the audience participation. As we know with IT skills, practice and repetition is how it sticks. Maybe a fun project as part of the workshop, where they will need to use their IT skills, and they can then learn from one another as well as from you. There is a great assessment tool called Profiler, where you can create bespoke assessments which also provide the answers too - happy to introduce you to them. Hope this helps! Sue |
