HI

I have been asked to develop a number of "bite size" training sessions (15-20 mins)for a newly formed management team to be delivered at their monthly team meeting.

The team have limited management skills and have been through a period on change and restructuring over the last six months, some have been promoted, some have been demoted and some are in the same of similar roles.

The session need to cover attitude and aptitude? Any ideas on topics, or sessions that have been delivered much appreciated

Helen

Hi Gill,
I am in a similar position in that we have a number of situations where someone who isn't a trainer is required to train someone in their natural work environment (outside usually). So I would be really interested in seeing one of your toy box talks if you were happy to share.
Thanks,
Giles

Hi Gill

On the back of your response to Helen, I am about to start pulling together 1 hr lunchtime sessions for Managers / staff on various topics and I was wondering if it would be possible to see some of your Toy Box Talks to give me some food for thought. If you are happy to do so my email address is below. Cheers, Caroline

Hi Helen I wrote a load of one hour sessions (I know you have been asked for shorter but the principles might apply)that can be delivered by a manager to their team within a team meeting. We call these Toy Box Talks (because we work with children!) and I based them on Tool Box Talks as used in the building trade where training needs to be quick and have impact and delivered by someone who isn't a trainer probably standing on a muddy site! So what I did was give them basically a script - based on a scenario. They read it out, then I give them discussion prompts, followed by an action planning session. I know that mine will be irrelevant but the method works well so if you want to see one, let me know. [email protected]

Hi Helen,
Have a look at some of the Attitude and Mindset icebreakers in Trainers' Library. In particular I'd suggest -

I hope that this helps, Zoe
