Clever ideas for a roll out workshop

Hi everyone,

I have recently created a inducting and coaching guide to be run by the managers in our business when they recruit new starters. I will be rolling the guide out in a succession of workshops to new and experienced managers and really want them to buy into it. I have thought about asking them some questions about retention and the costs of making the wrong hire or not giving new hires enough support, and I also have some material on the psychological contract, but wondered if anyone else had any clever/impactful ideas for rolling the tool out to a group of managers who may at first be resistant to change or who may not have the confidence to coach others? If anyone has any experience of this, I'd be so grateful for ideas.

Interesting question Rebecca :-)

The areas I would consider would link in to Employee Engagement and the research about people leaving managers rather than organisations. There are some great exercises on this in the library - Employee Engagement Part 4 might be a fun way to bring it to life. Also Style is Right is another option for altering leadership style to meet the needs of the new individual.

I would also thoroughly recommend Tapping it Out - always a lot of fun to deliver and generates a great conversation about how things make perfect sense to us don't necessarily translate to others who don't have the same information.

I am sure there are lots more ideas, so I look forward to hearing from others too :-)
