Background
My life in training started when working as a HR Manager for a large hospital and noticed that when clinicians became managers they often struggled, and even ended up choosing to step down as they felt they couldn't make it as a manager.
What of course transpired is that they had never had any training in manaagment skills so although they were excellent clinicians they were not equipped to be managers; hence my first venture in to managment training and I have been hooked ever since!
In 2007 I set up GatewayHR and approximately 50% of the business is training in lots of areas, but the most popular are people management training and management skills.
Expertise
As someone who has taught on the CIPD programmes and Certificate in Management Studies for both the University of Northampton and MOL, I have a wealth of knowledge in both the topics and how to teach them.
My specialism is in managing people training, whether acredited training (ILM etc) or bespoke courses to meet company needs. My MA is in Employee Engagment and I love teaching this and working with business to plan how to increase engagement levels and therefore reap all the benefits.
